Project Description
Join the IBR Volunteer Team
If socializing with kittens is on the top of your “Things to Do” list and you’re over the age of 18, we’ve got a spot for you! There is always plenty to do from transporting kittens to helping with adoptions. We request that if you apply for one of our volunteer positions, that you can commit to the days and times listed – we don’t want to leave our fur-babies without the proper care and love! Here are a few of the Volunteer Opportunities that we frequently need assistance with:
- Socializer/Kennel Attendants – The kittens that have not been adopted on the weekends spend the week at Petsmart. Kennel Attendants clean the kennels and kennel area, feed and water, clean potty boxes, Socialize (play) with the kittens and do a general health check. Volunteers are required to be at Petsmart before 11 am and stay about 2 hours. Volunteers must be reliable – this is extremely important as the kittens health and welfare depend on our volunteers!
- Intake Kennel Attendant – This opportunity is for Cleaning the kennels, carriers, potty boxes and food dishes at our Citrus Heights Intake Center every Monday. Volunteers must have their own transportation to and from the intake center.
- Transporting Kittens – We are looking for drivers to transport kittens between Citrus Heights and the Bradshaw Animal Shelter for spay and neuter on Thursdays. Drop off volunteers must be available before 7 am for pick up in Citrus Heights. Pick up volunteers should be available after 3 pm. All volunteers transporting kittens must have a vehicle that is licensed and insured that can hold up to 10 kennels.
