Join the IBR Teen Volunteer Team

Looking to earn community service hours for school and cuddle kittens? Here’s a quick guide to get you started. Responsible teens, aged 15 and up, can volunteer once a month on Saturdays or Sundays from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Since our adoptions take place in a retail store, teens must stay focused on both the kittens and their surroundings—because lost kittens are never happy kittens!

  • Helping with setup and takedown.
  • Scooping all litter boxes as needed.
  • Replenishing the food and water and Kitty litter supplies when needed.
  • Keeping the floor in the kennel area swept and clean.
  • Washing empty food, water dishes, toys and cat litter boxes throughout the day.
  • Handing kittens to the adoption team during adoptions.
  • Socializing kittens when adoptions are slow.
  • Filling goodie bags as needed.

  • Staging empty kennels.

  • Taking out cat litter and trash at the end of adoption day.
