Project Description
Schedule too hectic to volunteer directly or foster? Too young for our teen volunteer positions? You can still make a huge difference! Every adopted kitten and puppy goes home with a cozy handmade blanket and a new toy. With over 500 adoptions/year, we’re always accepting blanket and toy donations!
Make a Blanket: There are many patterns online for cozy fleece DIY no-sew blankets, a perfect service activity for youth groups! Our hobbyists can also donate crochet, knit, or quilted blankets. The recommended sizes, square or round, are perfect to keep pets snug and warm:
- Kittens: 20” x 20”
- Puppies: 24” x 24”
There are countless patterns online for crafting fun and creative toys for kittens! Popular designs include little mice, octopuses, tacos, and balls. When making or selecting toys, please ensure there are no loose strings or small, removable parts that could pose a choking hazard. And don’t forget—kittens absolutely love a dash of catnip to make their toys even more exciting! (Due to their strong teeth, we use safe store bought toys for puppies. Options are on our wish lists!)
Make a Kitten Sweater – when kittens are first born, they need to be snuggled and these are a great way to keep them warm! We’ve found a pattern here that can help!
Special Project?: If you have a special talent or a unique idea, we’d love to hear it! We’ve been the lucky recipients of several scout projects, such as a custom built puppy obstacle course and a specialized supply fundraiser. Reach out to us via our Contact Page!
Donated items can be dropped off at the PetSmart on Fairway Dr in Roseville during business hours or mailed to our PO box:
